What Is 4 Color Process Printing?

4 Color Process Printing is a technique that uses halftones of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black (Key) (CMYK Printing) to create a full color print. Halftoning or “screening” results in less than full saturation because the 4 color printing process prints tiny dots that appear as one solid color to the human eye. Without halftoning, the color process would be reduced to solid blocks of color.

4 color process screen printing is mainly used to print photographic images, but can be used to print other types of designs as well.

Yes. Process designs require a different set up process than traditional spot color designs. As a result, there is a one time set up fee for 4 color process designs.

Save Money with CMYK Screen Printing

If you have a full color image you may be able to save money printing with 4 color process, also known as CMYK screen printing, instead of printing with multiple spot colors. Contact us today to go over your project and discuss if this is the best option for you.
